“Do Something Today That Your Future Self Will Thank You For” – Sean Patrick Flanery
I was running to the beat of my favorite ABBA tunes and remembering the last time I saw the play Mamma Mia. Tony and I had a fantastic dinner that included a succulent desert and worked up a good buzz before the show. The music was so fun and the audience was exhilarated and dancing in their seats. Towards the end of the show, the entire audience stood up and danced in the isles of a theater that typically hosted traditional performances like Shakespeare.
I’ve had tonight marked in my calendar for over two months now – Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. As much as I’m currently looking forward to the show, I’m not looking forward to the decision I’ll be forced to make at the restaurant prior; to have a cocktail or not.
I have a long-standing reputation as a party girl that goes back to my college days. I was never “that girl’ who got drunk and did, you know, “crazy stuff”, but I was always up for a good party. Even at the ripe age of 46, my girlfriends take a picture we have jokingly refer to as “the last girls standing” at every party and social gathering. There’s over a dozen of us girls and we snap a photo of the last two or three girls to call it quits. Flipping through Facebook photos, I can quickly tell you, I’m in 90 percent of them!
How can anyone who has written the blogs I have over the last few days even consider having a cocktail tonight? I don’t know, but I can tell you, I am.
For a moment, I have sincere empathy for Adam and Eve!
Oh, cocktail, How Can I Resist You?
